Getting
to Clamhan

Clamhan has excellent road and rail connections.

To get to Clamhan by road:

From the South - take the A82 to Ballachulish, then take the ferry (marked in red above) to Ardgour then the A861 to Strontian.  Continue on the A861 towards Salen. Pass over the bridge marked 'Allt Ard Airigh' then immediately go past Ceol na Mara (on the shore side). A couple of hundred metres further on, as the road bends sharply to the left, take the track on the right hand side of the bend. The track is a rough mile, so take care, especailly in wet weather (not that we ever have any!). Pass through the gate in the deer fence and then through a second gate ahead and up to the house.

From Fort William - take the A82 south for ten miles to the Corran Ferry than follow the route above.

From Skye or Mallaig - take the A830 south for 15 miles, and turn right on the A861 at Lochailort. Follow the A861 through Acharacle and Salen, and pass the car park for the Ardery wildlife hide. A few hundred yards further on, the road drops round a right-hand bend - take the track on the left and follow the directions above. If you get as far as Ceol na Mara you have overshot - turn round and go back to the track.
